Mine with i9 13900hx 4060 but temperatures very high in cs2 80c in ghost of tsushima 85,92c and surfing or watching videos 60,70c is it normal?

I always had a weird stutter with this laptop that im sure is not related to my windows and software. it never got solved but i heard it is related to AMD's security setting in bios but never could solve it

Doesn't optimus cover the lack of mux switch? I'm really thron between two offers, one zephyrus GX701g with a non super rtx 2080 max q and a gsync and mux switch with max ram of 24 gb and 80watt battery and 144hz fhd screen and another one acer predator Helios 300 with max 64gb memory, rtx 3070 and QHD 165HZ display with optimus, and most importantly asus has an 8th gen i7 while the acer has 11th gen i7, my mind says acer but that zephyrus is just too beautiful to ignore, please help

Add to this: - the fans are magnetic and they die and try to kill the laptop in about half a year - the front led strip bugs out and it will forever glow on one or more spots - the laptop overheats very easily (even before the fan blowing itself out) - the laptop has a shitty sleep issue

Hey jarrod, alienware command center is not reinstalling in my laptop once after i uninstalled it in my dell g15 5511. It says 'the wizard was interrupted before Alienware command centre package manager could be completely installed? How can i sort out this problem, I've tried everything possible from web and Dell's RUclips

I purchased a Helios Neo 16 nine months ago. Last week, my Samsung 2TB ssd failed. I only use engineering software and don't game. Before the failure, the air coming out of the enclosure openings was warm since purchase but not hot. Anyways, Acer only replaced my SSD since it was under warranty, and couldn't find out the cause. It seems few people have had SSD issues with this model and received "no bootable device" error like me. Could you please advise whether I should use a heatsink for my SSD this time to avoid its failure? If yes, can you recommend a heatsink and thermal pad that would fit in this laptop? I purchased a Crucial 2TB with heat sink, but it didn't fit. Or if necessary, I am willing to just buy a new SSD that comes with a heatsink. By the way, the new SSD they Acer installed for me is Micron.

The perfect gaming laptop is developers moving to Macs: Performance unplugged, better screens, airpods as excellent headsets, doesn't get hot, decent keyboard. Hopefully Qualcomm can come in and save us.

I just bought a Helios 16 with the 4080 so not the neo, and I Imagine is the same plug, it keeps coming unplugged with the lightest movement. I can never have this on my lap in bed, sometimes even while on the table it can not stay charged because the power comes unplugged so easily. Acer dropped the ball hard

Why laptops and especially budget gaming laptops have so little fan control options when desktops have full control?

In my opinion this cons were not that major honestly. I guess the price is worth it considering its screen is brighter and the fan noise is reduced. The battery life, weight, webcam, RGB keyboards doesn't really matter much because it's a gaming laptop. It's not supposed to be carried regularly so I guess its fine 😅

What you said about ram is just wrong. There are no stablity issues installing larger mismatched sticks, the difference would be that you can only ever achieve dual channel memory speeds for the first 16gb in this case, as it pulls 8gb from soldered snd 8 from installed. After this it will tun in single channel mode which may have slighrly worse perfotmance

Hey there thanks for the vid! I recently purchased this laptop with the i5 13500HX and RTX 4050 configuration for around 80,000 Rupees (Roughly 950 dollars). At this pricepoint i could not find anything near to this, at least here in India.

The real bottleneck is the Predator Sense program. The thing is completely broken both 2023 and 2024 versions. You have to keep resetting your laptop just to make it work but when the laptop sleeps or heaven forbid lid down it stops working. It defaults to "Battery Mode." even when you unplug and plug the ac adapter, sure it says its in AC mode but none of its features are working. Acer acknowledges this but they only give you the usual "Reinstall/Update/Etc" spill which I did but it never permanently fixes the problem.

the touchpad on my legion 5 is even pressure the whole way accross. but i rarely use it. mine is i-9, w. 3080 video. i like it, big ol brick & all.

I think you should compare helios 300 with helios 16 and not helios neo 16.

I got it yesterday and this piece of shit is having thermal issues. The CPU hits 100 degrees Celsius lowering the performance. It does not hit even close to 4.5 GHz not to mention the 5 on i7 13700hx

I am really enjoying my Acer Predator Helios 300 with NVDIA 3070 Graphics. Great HD 165 Htz screen. 3 Drives, (2 Gen 4 NVME, 1 SATA SSD) 32 GB RAM, 8 GB VRAM, etc., etc., etc. It's an electronic marvel and a real "keeper." Cheers!

i bought a it 16 gb variant but i have a issue, it do not run games when unplug from charger, like in higher setting, when remove chareger game become chopy, this wasnt the case with my old tuf gaming, is this normal to all g 15 variant or mine defective

Got this laptop basically new for 890$. Totally worth it. Have had some weird issues where the fans spin up without anything going on, and the pc reboots itself. Gonna try some ddu and maybe a fresh clean windows install without the bloatware.
